Welcome to Living with More Joy

Welcome to Living with More Joy

This is a path to the ocean.

There is so much promise in a path to the sea, so much joy! It is the anticipation. We know the ocean is on the other side of the dune we are about to cross and many of us hold romantic notions about the ocean, it is why we feel drawn to it. It is the promise of More, more time to relax, more excitement, more joy for our lives. If the ocean does not do that for you take a moment to reflect on what does bring you that feeling – looking forward to an evening drinking hot cocoa in front of the fire, Christmas with family and friends, returning to an old haunt!

Welcome to Living with More Joy, our home. Our home is not perfect, but it is warm (or cool if you need it to be), comfortable and cozy, like a cottage by the sea. Our wish for you, is that our home gives you that same feeling of anticipation and joy as thinking about your favourite experiences do.

Breathe in slowly, hold, and exhale. Relax. That feeling you have now, the loosening in your chest, that peace, that is one of the feelings we aim to help you feel while you are here.

Now, think of a song that makes you want to jump up and dance when you hear it. That feeling, that excitement, that is also what we want you to feel while you are here.

And finally, think of the joy you feel when you are with a group of close friends or family members for an afternoon or a weekend. Remember the laughter of those moments, the side splitting, run to the bathroom laughing you do! Have you ever noticed that you laugh more in your time together than you might laugh the rest of the year? That feeling of joy, we want you to have that feeling while you are here as well.

We are so glad you have joined us and look forward to relaxing, dancing and laughing with you as you journey with us through our blog and our lives, we hope we brighten your day and that you will share your stories to brighten our day as well.

Welcome home friend, we are so glad you are here!

If this reflection brought a quiet moment of joy, let’s keep walking this path together — pausing, noticing, and finding wonder in the everyday.

Wonderfully Outrageous Adventures

Sometimes there are things we like to do that seem ridiculous to our family and friends. This doesn’t mean they are ridiculous,  only that those who have not tried them may judge you because of them. Let them judge. There will always be someone judging you. You need to get…

The Broken Butter Dish Club

Many years ago I bought a butter dish in a thrift store because it reminded me of the butter dish my oma had when I was growing up. It is round, which works well for butter sliced from a 1 lb butter block, the way we buy butter in Canada.…
